It(being running) got better today!

What a relief,ya'll! I found out my cell phone has FM radio transmission so I breezed through the three minute intervals of running today. I was still drenched with sweat, but the time went by better. Funny, I've always pictured myself running silently down a wooded path. Guess that's a little advanced for this 3 minute run/2 minute walk girl at this point. For now, I need a little distraction.

Good for you ! I got to start doing something. I couldn't put on my favorite jeans today.

Hey, at least you still HAVE a pair of favorite jeans! HA! I've got a long way to go, girl, but, for now, I'm motivated! One day at a time, that's all I can do.

I listen to books when exercising. I can't imagine trying to take up running in Mississippi in the summer! Good for you, may a cold front find its way south.

Here are the keys, Sage. Early morning rather than later and, lately, the aftermath of Gustav sends cooling rains our way for many days. I've learned to welcome the rain when walking and running instead of using it as a reason NOT to get outside. I was encouraged the other day to see a "real runner" running in pouring rain. Soon, I will join her.

Man, I wish I was "real runner!" I have a rhythm when I run that neighboring kids pick up and clap to as I run by! Now, that is loud running! ;D

Wow...I just can't get motivated. I thought buying a new pair of shoes would help, but after walking for an hour Friday, they left my heels blistered. Now I really have an excuse!

Maggie, please remember you DID run a 5K! I am able to run a "3 minute"...so what if they clap to your foot rhythm. I am trying to drown out my paniced breathing at minute 2:30 while I pray "Dear God, let the 3 minute alarm go off on my phone." Tomorrow, the 4 minute challenge begins: run 4/walk 2 for 5x.
Crystal: at least you HAVE new shoes. I'm still on my "cross trainers"when I was just walking. Going to splurge with real running shoes in October. Don't want to jinx it just yet, so I'm staying with my shoes for now.
